I chose this video because it really inspires you to think about how everything begins with one step. Since it is a "how to" video, it showed me that not everyone knows how to take that first step forward, we must discover our own way of doing it. The stairs represent the journey and you try to take that first step to the destination everyone wants to reach; happiness. It does not say the name of the girl that created it, but her youtube username is Knaddaf and it was an instructional video on how to walk up stairs.
This video is called "Maui- the Valley Isle-" and I chose it because it inspired me to think that we take the beauty of the world for granted. We get so caught up in life, all the bad things, we forget to appreciate the beautiful things around us. Once we enable ourselves to not be consumed by life's distractions, we see the world much differently and can admire how truly wonderful everything is. Amir Zakeri created the video, and it is a bunch of different shots of the scenery in Maui.
"Fly" didn't have a very clear plot but it inspired me to think about how if we can escape the bad, in this case run away from, we will be much happier and the world will be much brighter. When we can ignore the people laughing, and not care what people think, we can soar above everyone's expectations and be our own person, soaking in happiness. Dzul Shaari created the video and the main theme of it is to fly.
My proposed idea for this project is to demonstrate that taking that first step in the right direction, the first step away from the bad and the things that hurt you, will allow you to see the beauty in the things around you and make you forget about all the bad things in your life. These videos inspired me to come up with this idea because the first one made me consider the idea of taking that first step, the second demonstrated the beauty in the world around us and the third made me think about running away from the negatives. Putting all of these concepts together made me come up with my idea. Filming feet walking will help me achieve a majority of my vision for this assignment and I can do this by shooting from a high angle. I also want to shoot different scenery to show the beauty of the world which I can do by shooting a low angle and I will also change the effects on these shots so as the video progresses, the viewer will see the world differently just like they would when they take their first step. Other techniques I will use to enforce my vision are tracking a moving object(feet), panning(scenery), and tilting(to see the feet, and aiming up at the sky).
